Diasio Elected Chair of CCPN Board of Managers
At the May 10, 2023, meeting of CCPN’s Board of Managers, Christoph Diasio, MD, FAAP was elected Board Chair. A pediatrician with Sandhills Pediatrics in Southern Pines, NC, Dr. Diasio received his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Dr. Diasio's practice proudly cares for the entire economic spectrum in his community and 55 percent of his patient population are covered by Medicaid. Dr. Diasio has served on the BlueCross BlueShield Physician Advisory group and chaired the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Administration and Practice Management (SOAPM). He is currently the Co-chair of the NC Pediatric Council and the Immediate Past President of the NC Pediatric Society. He has been a strong and passionate Manager on the Board of CCPN for several years.
CCPN’s Immediate Past Chair L. Allen Dobson Jr., MD, will continue to serve on the CCPN Board, but will focus heavily on projects under the auspices of CCNC’s Center for Community-Based Primary Care, particularly the Family Medicine Mentorship Program, the Venture Mentoring Services Program, and Workforce Pathway Initiative, an effort aimed at addressing the critical shortage of primary care physicians in North Carolina.
Congratulations to Dr. Diasio in his new role and a grateful thank you to Dr. Dobson for serving as the Chair of CCPN since its inception. CCPN has grown and has become one of the largest networks of independent primary care clinicians in the nation under his leadership.
